Sox Win on The Back Of Wakefield
Ok, so the Sox may not owe the win exclusively to Wakefield, but he pitched well and the team got another “W”. Kevin Youkilis is tearing it up for the most part, atleast when he’s in the Majors. He went 2-3 and drove in the winning run, also grabbing a walk as he’s been known to do from time to time.
However, I still think the veteran pitching performance from Wake is the determining factor. After a couple of spot-starts, the Sox regular rotation got a showing. And Wake went 7 strong innings, giving up 10 hits and 3 runs to improve his record to 3-1. What I like with Wake is he appears very laid back and relaxed, but I don’t know if there’s a more competitive team-player on the roster. After ten year, I really like this guy.
Johnny Damon extended his hitting streak to 11 games, and remains on fire. Still waiting for Manny, Millar and Ortiz to turn it on, and for Foulke to remain consistent. But an added bonus was yet another loss for the Yankees
