So Good, So Good!
That’s the song, and Millar now has 2 home runs in back-to-back games. What makes his last blast special is that it was in the nineth inning when the Sox were about to lose the game. With Millar’s 2nd home run on the season, the Red Sox were able to win the ball game 3-2.
Unlike the game before, where the Red Sox scored 9 unearned runs, the A’s battled the Sox in a very close matchup for most of the night. In fact, the Sox found themselves facing defeat with one out in the nineth inning. That is until Millar extended the A’s losing streak to 4 games when he crushed a pitch off of Oakland’s closer Octavio Dotel.
NOTE: With their victory over the Oakland Athletics on May 10, 2005, the Red Sox are now 1.5 games back from first place in the American League East Division.

It was only fitting that Millar ended the game with a rocket over the monster. While Arroyo pitched another gem ( with no run support again, the new Pedro?) Millar was involved in two defensive mishaps. What’s up with the one bag in this series? Hatteberg Monday, Millar Tuesday…..who will it be tonight? But as Millar said in a post game interview, that defense was out and offense was in. As long as he drives more runs in than he lets in, it’s a good night.
To close my comments I want to give a shout out to Don Orsillo for saving Wally’s mini World Series trophy. Usually if Wally is happy, the Sox are winning.
