Arroyo Will Serve Suspension

Ok, I’m late to talking about this, but only because most people knew this was going to go down. Bronson Arroyo has dropped his appeal in regards to a suspension dealt him after he hit a Tampa Bay Devils Ray batter late in the game after warnings had been issued to both teams.

It’s assumed that the Sox will go with a 4 man rotation (Matt Clement, Wells, Wade Miller and Tim Wakefield) while Arroyo is out. And since the Sox have an off day and a Cooperstown exhibition game, the staff will get full rest. Unfortunately, I’ll be at the exhibition game and will be dissappointed because I’ll probably be watching some AAA pitcher instead of the starting 5. :-(

Oh well, if it’s best for the team.

Arroyo could pitch in the exhibition right? It is an exhibition game. I doubt it but it would be nice to a major leaguer. It wouldn’t be bad to see Dinardo or Malaska though. In time they will be starting probables for a major league roster. Maybe we could Oil Can on our roster before Monday and pitch him in Cooperstown. That would be some classic Sox action in a classic baseball setting.

If Arroyo pitches, wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of a suspension? If he can throw, that means they don’t have to use other players to get through the exhibition game.
