Sox Win By Way Of Walks

What do you do when the team’s not hitting? Well, you take the abundance of walks that you’re given and you make the most of ‘em. That’s what the Sox did to the A’s and it’s a good thing because the offense has kind of fallen silent lately.

A game that seemed to take forever, at least had the right outcome. Although, my favorite moment of the night was Clement adamantly waiving Francona to stop on his way to the mound to relieve Clement. Unfortunately for Francona the replacement he chose, Matt Mantei, gave up a few runs and the Sox were behind until the 8th inning.

Now, I like competitve spirits in ball players. But I think many of them get extremely childish, and although I disagreed with Francona taking Clement out, I would’ve done the same thing as he did once he started to the mound. Did Clement, or anyone for that matter, think Clement was going to persuade Francona to leave him in?
