Wells Return Not So Well
This game can go without saying, the Sox continue to be pitiful, one way or another, while on this road trip. David Wells’ return to the starting rotation was anything but decent. Unfortunately, his performace but the game out of reach of any offense within the first couple of innings.
Wells ended the day after surrendering 9 hits and 7 runs over 1 1/3 innings. He’s now 2-4 on the year, and his ERA is at 6.75. I figure it’ll take both Wells and Schilling several starts to get back to form once they return from the DL. I bet it’ll be another start or two before Wells becomes Wells.
The Sox get a much needed night off before they host the Braves for the first interleague series, with Wade Miller squaring off against former A’s pitcher, Tim Hudson.
