Yankee Hangover
I guess I’ve been on a bit of a Yankee hangover. I loved watching the Sox pound the Bombers so much that I haven’t written in awhile. Unfortunately, I can’t really gloat too much, seeing that the Sox dropped the series opener with the Orioles in a dismal fashion tonight, losing 8-1. Bronson Arroyo just didn’t have it, as he didn’t his last start either. What concerns me more, though, is the lack of offensive production. Granted, the games against the Yankees saw no shortage of runs and hits, but the inconsistency of this offense has dropped a few wins this season already. And, it’s not that we would’ve overcome the 7 run deficit to win, but just managing to not get shutout shouldn’t be enough for this offensive lineup.
Now, Millar and Bellhorn were not in the starting order. Millar is due to breakout at anytime, he has to — especially if he wants to keep his job. Renteria has come alive lately, but went hitless tonight.
Wade Miller starts for the Red Sox against the Orioles again Tuesday night at 7 PM. I’m looking forward to seeing if Wade can bounce back with a solid outing.

The crazy thing is that two pitchers, Lopez and Ted Lilly, give the Red Sox so much trouble while the rest of the league tees off on them. It couldn’t have been a better day in the rotation for the O’s as they’ve come off a sweep and the red hot Red Sox were just that. Tonight we got a young pitcher and I’d say we should get back into form. Wade has been very good in the Fens so let’s hope the trend continues.
