Indians Spoil Tea Party
It’s only fitting. We went into Cleveland and ended their 9 game winning streak. They come to Boston and blow apart our 6 game streak. From the first AB I felt that this was going to be long night. Arroyo had 7 walks in June, 3 in 6 2/3 last night. His placement was off and the lefties were laying off the inside breaking balls. The convincing point came when what should have been an inning ending double play, was a 2 run Mark Bellhorn error. I don’t like Bellhorn, but he doesn’t usually make the kind of error he made last night. I was cursing him pretty good though. Then in the 7th inning Trot Nixon got the assist on a Grady Sizemore home run. By the look on Arroyo’s face after that, he knew that it didn’t matter. The Sox were not going to win, and probably not even try. We have those nights where I can feel that a win is not going to happen. I wouldn’t say that I’m always right but maybe 70-30. Maybe it’s the heat. The Sox have been playing in some very hot weather the past couple weeks. The boys of summer could be feeling the effects. Most of the Red Sox like and play better in the heat, but like I said it’s been very hot. Although sometimes it good to take a big loss like that after a winning streak. It makes the next night even better when you deal it back to them.
