What A Schill

We let it slip away, bottom line. I stand by my opinion that Schilling shouldn’t be back until he’s Schilling. His performance against the Yankees was evident that he’s not himself yet. Why you try him as a closer at this point, in his first appearance back from rehab appearances? Who the hell knows!

The offense shouldn’t have left as many on base as they did, but 6 runs should be enough to win ball games. Arroyo was off, Schilling was in another ball park. As much as I like Schilling, it’s too painful to watch him get beat up by the Yanks, especially A-Rod - after A-Rod’s comment in the off season about the Yankees beating Schilling up in game 1 of the ALCS… what a dirt bag ;-)

I don’t know what needs to happen, exactly. But I wouldn’t put my eggs in the Schilling as closer basket. Get a temporary fix or a REAL fix for closer, and get Schilling back to form. Some of you may be thinking I’m being too hard on him in his first appearance back, but our lead in the AL East has dwindled to 1 game, and if my calculations serve me correctly, we’re going to need to win the Division to make the post season.
