Trying To Keep The Cup 1/2 Full
3 for 30, 7 walks, 8 strikeouts and a run. No… not Bellhorn’s stats from last week. That was the production of the Red Sox in a 3-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Cellar Keepers, I mean Devil Rays. I usually write when something bothers me or I’ m frustrated. That is true. I am bothered and frustrated. But right now not many writers are talking about the good things that have came up lately, so I’m going to try it. Stick with me.
We all got to see a great run put on by Johnny Damon. It had to end sometime. 29 games is nothing to be disappointed about. Schilling’s fastball was holding low 90’s yesterday and gave good deception to his splitter. Manny was as entertaining as ever by taking an early 7th inning stretch…behind the confines of the Green Monster. NESN installed a new bullpen camera. Alex Cora is an upgrade from Ramon Vasquez. Chad Bradford from the right and under side complements Mike Myers nicely. Youkilis is back where he belongs. And Bellhorn is getting a little time off. I don’t like to see players injured, but if some has to go to the DL I prefer that it is Bellhorn.
That is my wrap on things that have been ok or good as of lately.

I have to agree with Shawn, yet again. Although I’d like to have seen Damon get a little more coverage on his 29 game hitting streak. Sure, it was far from smoking Joe D., but not many ball players, especially in this age, even get as far as Damon.
Oh well, guess he’ll just have to do it again. Damon’s other long hitting streak came earlier in the year where he had an 18 game hitting streak.
