Juice
I read allot of post sites and I submit allot of comments. One subject that gets me worked up a bit is ” Which Sox are on the Juice.” For one, the steroid topic isn’t a real big deal to me. I don’t approve of it, but it doesn’t make me want to stricken every HR Bonds ever hit or put an asterisks next to McGuire’s name. What are you going to do MLB and MLB media? Take away Palmero’s hit between 93′ and now? Sure the Sox would like those 6 RBIs he hit against us before the all-star break, but guess what…we aren’t gonna get em’ back. Until this year it wasn’t against MLB rules to use performance enhancing substances. So if you didn’t use the juice it was to your disadvantage ( stat wise, not health). But I don’t like to point fingers. I do believe players can have breakout years or be consistent for many years. Some guys just have a super workout plan / method like Roger Clemens.
Well back to the Sox. I don’t like it when people imply that our boys are on the juice. I’ve heard mostly Johnny Damon, Gabe Kapler, Bill Mueller, Kevin Millar and even….and even….David Ortiz?!?! Damon because of the great numbers and it being a contract year. Kapler because he’s ripped like a WWE superstar. Mueller because of all the knee injuries. Millar for the lack of power numbers. And Ortiz (still shocked) because of the last few years of amazing numbers. If you didn’t know, the Sox were one of the first teams to be tested this year. No one returned positive results. Good enough for me! Why would you even put steroids and Papi in the same sentence? I know with the recent news of steroids that anyone seems possible, so everyone is skeptical about the power numbers in the game. But until someone is busted, don’t assume. Have some faith in our guys. If you imply that they’ve been juicing it may appear like we won the championship with a scandal brewing. And what would make you think that these guys would want to be devious to the MLB’s policy on steroids? It not like there isn’t constant media coverage in Boston. These guys would truly be idiots if the were using performance enhancing drugs, and thought they could get away with it.

I could only agree with Shawn more. . . Here’s how I see it:
If Damon used juice, he’d actually be able to throw.
If Kapler used juice, his hot wife would probably leave him for the shriveled ‘packaging’ that supposively can occur from usage.
If Mueller used the juice, would he really have to put soooo much of himself into some of those swings and throws?
If Papi was using the juice, it’d be bottled up, thugged out and delivered via a giant bevarage truck on hydraulics
