Half-way through August and the Sox have been winning consistently. The play has not been superb, but perhaps that little myth about chemistry does actually work since they have been winning.
This year’s squad still has a mix of characters, an entire host of idiots. In addition, there is an assortment of veteran players that have been brought to Boston and are exploding! I think that the greatest advantage comes from the ‘no-panic’ atmosphere and team plan the Sox have. Despite any deficit, the Sox will continue to plug away. Hit them with a two-run double, they’ll come at you with a three-run home run. Smash a long ball against the Sox, and they come back with a grand-slam or a couple of out-of-parkers… This team just doesn’t quit!
