Who’s That Knocking At Our Back Door
Being in control of the division certainly isn’t something the Red Sox are used to, not since ‘95 anyway. I’m not used of it either. But, with the Yankees winning 4 in a row and sweeping their nemesis, the Devil Rays, we may be hearing a very familiar knock reminiscient of 2002 if we don’t step up soon.
The Sox didn’t gain the game in the Bronx, the Sox lost one. Since then the team’s lost two more. The Yankees are arguably playing their best ball again. The Sox, are not. Plaqued with more injuries and inconsistent performances, the team’s looking, at-best, a tight race down the stretch. It remains to be seen that the tools will be on-board and at their prime to stake another run. I have confidence that the players are capable, but the time to flip that “on” switch is almost gone. Wakefield, who has been great recently, must be great again. And our old friends called the Boston Red Sox offense must start that locomotive rolling because we’re still on the track.
