Sox Against The Wall, Now Looking In
Last night’s 8th inning melt-down was another disappointment in a recent string of let-downs by the BoSox. With the defeat against Tampa Bay, the Sox are now a 1/2 game back (most likely will be a full game by tonight’s end) in the Division, and a full game back in the Wild Card.
With all the talk of needing rest, hopefully having today off will fair better for the ‘idiots’ when they start up a series with Baltimore. It goes without saying, again, that every game is crucial. With the Yankees about to be a game up, our victories need to number well enough to hold them in check for the final series of the season.
A lot of criticism has come about, be it Manny, pitchers, players in general, or Tito. I could go off on any case in point. The bottom line is that this team now has to win. Now has to turn the corner and start playing like they are in a pennant race. Injuries need to subside, performance needs to step up A LOT! When it’s all said and done, if the Yankees didn’t have a $200 million salary, everyone would be pointing at the Sox saying how does a $130 million team not make the play-offs, not win the division?
It was ours to lose, we lost it. Now it’s ours to fight back for it.
