No Papi At First
You’ve must have heard the saying: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. David Ortiz is the game’s most feared hitter right now. He has redefined the value of a DH. Move him to first base? Are you crazy? It’s not worth the risk. Just watch the guy run or slide, and tell me you want to see him diving after ground balls.
He can’t run, he can’t dive, but he sure as hell can hit. He’s put up monster number with the Sox. To me it’s not worth the risk to move Big Papi from DH to 1B.
