This One’s For Shawn — Sveum Is Gone
Unfortunately, my good friend Shawn has now lossed three of his favorite members of the Red Sox this past season. First, it was Embree and Bellhorn that left to go to the Evil Empire. I know Shawn took a few good weeks to get over those departures. But, this may be the tale that tells the tape
Perhaps the guy that Shawn had the most admiration for, has departed to head west, to a little franchise in an even smaller market. Hell, he’s not even in the same league anymore. I know this will have Shawn crying through most of the off-season, but Dale Sveum’s departure to the Brewers third base coach position will be greeted with sighs of relief from most members of Red Sox Nation. I’m sorry, Shawn, but we need to get younger and WISER
Cheer up, buddy. You can always subscribe to Small-Market-Baseball WebTV to watch one of your favorite base coaches next year!

Actually, I never had much gripe with Sveum. Of course he was always the butt of some jokes. For the most part the Red Sox and baserunning isn’t something that should be said in the same sentance. It’s alot more relaxing anyway, with the Sox being a station to station team.
