Red Sox Hire DeMarlo Hale
Perhaps the first of the off-season acquisitions, the Red Sox organization have hired DeMarlo Hale, the former Texas Rangers first base coach after learning of David Sveum’s departure. Supposively, the Sox had been eying Hale since 2003, and with Terry Francona’s experience with and admiration of the coach, the Sox believe he will be an ideal fit with the team.
Courtesy of The Boston GlobeHale, 44, started his professional coaching career in the Red Sox organization in 1992 and last worked for the Sox in 1999, when as manager of Double A Trenton he compiled a 92-50 record and was named minor league manager of the year by several publications.
