With Konerko In Chicago, Will Angels Move In For Manny?

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

After having their offer of $60+ million refused by Chicago White Sox Paul Konerko, will the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim look to try and trade for Manny Rameriz. I guess it could be anyone’s guess, but if they were willing to pony up ove r$60 million over 5 years for Konerko, what’s a future […]

For Those Who Want To KeepManny

Wednesday, November 30th, 2005

Manny Rameriz wants out of Boston, but many fans wish it weren’t so. The reports that he’s demanded to be traded have fueled many a discussions: from what we could get in return, to the importance of keeping him around. Apparantly the $20 million a year salary can and can’t be an issue with some.

How The Sox Might Keep Damon

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

I had to think about this for a second and ponder if it was anything close to reality: A-Rod or Jeter in centerfield for the Yankees? C’mon. Right!? The big spenders for big talent and big names, would they seriously consider moving an elite infielder at the height of his career to nail down the […]

Are We To Expect Beattie?

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Since Theo Epstein’s departure from the Sox on Halloween, rumors have been flying around faster than jets over the middle-east. Recent meetings with the Red Sox and Jim Beattie might indicate a front-runner this late in the interviewing process.

At this point and this stage of the offseason, only one thing appears certain. The Red Sox […]

Forget About Wagner

Tuesday, November 29th, 2005

Billy Wagner has agreed to a 4 year $43mil deal with the Mets. Red Sox fans should be happy. Of course he would’ve looked good on the tail end of our bull pen, but at 35 years old - do you really think we would get 4 productive years? I’d rather see if we can […]

Forget About BJ

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

As most all have read by now, the Blue Jays paid BIG for BJ Ryan. The closer has landed a deal worth nearly $50 million. Hopefully this doesn’t start the trend of atrsonomical salaries around the league. It’d be nice to get Johnny Damon back, and this makes getting Wagner virtually impossible.

Official Word Has Come, Let’s Remember To Give Thanks

Sunday, November 27th, 2005

Unfortunately it has been awhile since I posted, my apologies. Aside from eating the traditional turkey dinner, and the traditional turkey dinner left-overs, I’ve been caught up a bit in the offseason lore known as T-Day Baseball Hangover.

Word has become official. Some prospects have left the organization in exchange for a guy named Beckett, some […]

Mixed Thanksgiving Holiday

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2005

As we all still await the official word on the Beckett/Lowell trade, rumors still float around about possibilities of Manny’s departure to various teams, mainly Seattle, Los Angeles/Anaheim, and New York Queens. Here are some of the options:

The Mets may be getting Delgado, but it would seem highly likely that he’d want out ASAP since […]

Favorite Quote of The Day

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

If the Beckett/Lowell trade goes through, ain’t this the truth:

the Sox suddenly have four 25-and-under pitchers playing key roles next season, with Schilling assuming the role of Koglan in “Cocktail” as he dispenses wisdom to the young dudes throughout the season, stuff like “Here’s how you throw a splitter” and “See that guy with […]

Trade Rumors Go From Stir To Boil

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

The Rameriz/Sanchez for Beckett/Lowell trade seems to be happening. Word on the street the only element remaining is physicals for the players involved. What does this mean if it happens? A lot.

Looking at the bright side, the Sox would not lose any of their major league roster in this trade. Hanley is the top prospect, […]
