Theo Doesn’t Stay
To tell everyone the truth, I am not very happy. It’s not because Theo is no longer the GM, but it’s November 1st and we are GM-less. If you read an earlier post you know that I was in the middle. I didn’t really care if Theo came back or left. But I care very much, that the next stop on the agenda is the GM meetings and here we are, looking for a GM. Evil Larry should’ve realized that Theo wasn’t coming back at some point. He probably should’ve installed a backup plan to keep Josh Byrnes around…..just in case. We are the Boston Red Sox. We have been to the playoffs three strait years. We have averaged 95 wins since 2002. Right now we are a premier force in Major League Baseball. Thanks Larry for giving us no GM on November 1st. This post season is probably more important than any other because our team needs a serious re-evaluation. But…….instead we’ll be looking for a GM. Or even worse, Evil Larry will assume that position as well as President and CEO.

I’m a little bit without words right now. It’s hard to explain what I’d like to happen and think that it’s a possibility. Essentially, I think you need to bring Epstein back. Do you know how long it would be to get an outside GM up and running in our system effectively during this extremely important off-season? Too long.
Without Epstein you can honestly say good-bye to Damon, hello to a horrible Manny trade, and countless other misgivings. That’s not to say that we wouldn’t be saying the same if Epstein did resign. But, I think a lot of us hold hope that Epstein does learn from past mistakes, and that may be the reason for his departure to begin with.
His style is much different than Evil Larry’s. He keeps things quiet down to the tiniest detail, and Evil Larry tells the world everything. Can’t wait to hear Evil Larry explain this debacle.

Actually with Theo out of the picture, Manny may stay. I think that Theo was the driving force of the attempted removal of Manny.
Our whole offseason plan has to be re-planned. There are reports of us trying to get Towers from SD and that may help in signing Brian Giles. Or what about DePodesta from LA ( just fired). He’s suppose to be a super sabermetrical computer geek GM. It will be interesting.

Oh it could be interesting, but I’d rather be discussing player transactions in November rather than GM prospects
I think anything goes with Manny. I’m not so sure Manny will want to stay just because Theo is no longer there… Can you imagine an interim meeting with Manny and Larry, and how it might go? Manny would probably cry.
I think I have to agree with the reports of Theo wanting to give the young prospects a chance, even if it meant not winning as many games. He’s help build an amazing farm system. A system that should be given more light to shine rather than to just use as trading bait.
It could be interesting, or it could be damn depressing.
