Official Word Has Come, Let’s Remember To Give Thanks

Unfortunately it has been awhile since I posted, my apologies. Aside from eating the traditional turkey dinner, and the traditional turkey dinner left-overs, I’ve been caught up a bit in the offseason lore known as T-Day Baseball Hangover.

Word has become official. Some prospects have left the organization in exchange for a guy named Beckett, some Gold Glove winning 3rd baseman, and a bullpen arm. Maybe not much for a Thanksgiving Day feast, but something I think we might get a good bite out of.

On the upside, the sky’s the limit. On the downside, the effect shouldn’t impact for a couple of seasons at the least since we only gave up prospects and not roster players.

The upside looks more promising, perhaps. Beckett is amped up to be with the Sox, to potentially be a franchise pitcher like Clemens and Pedro were beforehand. Lowell is out to prove last year was the fluke, not how he normally plays day-in and day-out. Mota will hopefully be a piece of stability in a very dishevelled bullpen.
