T-Graff Signed for 2006 Season
The Red Sox have re-signed infielder Tony Graffanino to a1 year contract worth $2.05 million. This essentially avoids salary arbitration. T-Graff chose to accept arbitration after not getting a better offer from other teams as a free agent. He will most likely be a utility infielder for the Sox, though he also could be traded before the season starts.
I like T-Graff, and I think many people know that his decision to accept arbitration in Boston were for personal reasons, not market factors. But, I think we’re loading up heavily on 2nd basemen and I’d hate to see T-Graff go as I think his playing style fits right into Boston. As of now we have 3 2nd baseman, all with some experience at other positions:
Mark Loretta, Alex Cora, Tony Graffinino … who do you want starting at 2B and or SS?
