Is Dan Shaughnessy A Red Sox Fan?
I think he might be at it again. Dan Shaughnessy, that is. It appears his latest column could be another attempt to break apart any deal that might be forthcoming regarding the return of Theo Epstein.
Frankly, I can’t stand Shaughnessy. Not because I think he’s a slime-ball writer, or that he lacks talent, but more so because I think he passes himself off as a true Red Sox fan when the guy is more a fan of Red Sox torture and pain than anything else. Let’s face it, there are good sports writers that can capture moments, tell the great stories, or investigate for the truth. I don’t believe ole Dan does any of this. Hell, I don’t even think he can relate to true Red Sox fans.
Personally, I’d like to see Dan take a flying hike because I think he’s out to set bad circles in motion. His insight is as pathetic as it can get, and any leaks he gets isn’t because he’s great at building repoire with players, execs or owners, it’s because he has a little bad that says “I belong to the Boston Globe.”
Get a clue Dan.
