So Close, But Yet So Far Away
First off, I don’t want anyone to think that the heading for this blog post has anything to do with the where-abouts of a one Mr. Manny Rameriz. Quite frankly, I have no idea where he is, and who ever really does…?
Spring Training is underway as catchers and pitchers have reported to Fort Myers, Floriday. You can catch a host of pictures of the semi-formal training session over at the Globe.
Sure, pictures are nice, but it still seems like the real season is so far away, and that’s probably because the WBC is garnering so much attention. I think the WBC will be interesting, but to be honest, I’m looking forward more the the MLB 2006 Season. On that note, this winter and off-season continue to be very long.
Aside from all the misery a long winter can bring, I got a hoot out of ESPN.com’s little power rankings and their take on the Sox — strange that they only mention Johnny Damon’s departure when rounding out their comment on the team’s future season:
Without Johnny Damon patrolling center field, outfield defense could be a big problem for the Sox.
