Pitching Coach Dave Wallace Out For Season

Reports indicate that Red Sox Pitching Coach, Dave Wallace, had a hip replacement surgery to address the hip-infection that kept him from attending Spring Training. It would be believed that the hip replacement surgery will keep Wallace out for the entire season.

As anyone knows, infections — even small ones — can become extremely dangerous. It seems that such was the case for Wallace who has battled hip infections before. As hopes are with Wallace and his health for recovery.

Al Nipper, hired in the offseason as the bullpen coach, is expected to take over Wallace’s job as Pitching Coach. Unfortunately for Nipper, it will require getting to know the pitchers as many have already worked with Wallace for years. No telling if and how much this might set back the Sox pitchers.
