Francona Sticking Around… For 2 Years More Anyway
Reports are indicating the Terry Francona has received a two year contract extension; meaning he’s here through 2008. I know many people have issues with Francona. Personally, I think he’s quite a capable manager. Yes, he’s had quite a selection of ballplayers, but how often do we say that about teams that don’t even make the play-offs?
Terms of the contract haven’t been disclosed. Francona was signed through the 2006 season with a franchise option on 2007. This extension will surely pay better than his previous contract, I’m sure.

I’m glad he’s sticking around for a few more years but……I hope Nipper can help him with pitching. We all know that Wallace did a great job at that.
