T-Graff Gone, Opening Day Looms Close

It’s just around the corner, the first day of the season. The Royals have grabbed Tony Graffinino off waivers and the Sox have sent Craig Hansen and Manny Delcarmen down to the minors. Also headed to Pawtucket are Dustan Mohr, Enrique Wilson, Willie Harris, Ken Huckaby, Trent Durrington, Dustin Pedroia, and Mike Holtz — if they all go, should be an exciting team at AAA.

I’m starting to get really excited about the season. Hoping that all these pieces (From Schilling and Foulke, to Beckett and Loretta) fall in place. I’d love to burst out of the gate like in ‘04.

Harris’s contract contains a clause that will allow him to become a free agent if he is not in the majors sometime in April. With Adam Stern expected to make the team for 17 days to fulfill his Rule 5 obligations, it’s possible the Sox demote Stern April 20 and promote Harris, who can play almost anywhere and steal a base (he’s swiped 49 in 61 career attempts).
