Rough Wake Out of Game 2

It could have been the wind, it could have been the Texas scenery, for all I know. But, Tim Wakefield didn’t have it out of the gate, and as we all know, being a knuckle ball pitcher — if you don’t have it, you really don’t have it.

What was optimistic was the Sox offense, despite having a terrible time with the Rangers’ Padilla. I have no problem seeing Coco Crisp have many 3-hit games and scoring a couple of runs. Loretta had a couple strokes of his own, and even Wily Mo go this pinch-hit rip in there with an added RBI toboot.

The unnerving thing has to be the fact that Alex Cora was substituted to take the place of Alex Gonzalez because of his success against Padilla. Unfortunately Padilla had it dialed in tonight, and Cora went hitless the entire game.

Looking forward to Game 3 and Josh Beckett’s debut as a Red Sox pitcher. I’m sure he’ll be amped, probably not as much as most fans though. The game’s at 8:05 ET, so tune in all — hopefully it will be utter brilliance.
