Oh What a Future

Talk about nervous! I’m so happy that baseball is back. Now there is no questions about what will be on TV nearly every night. But when it was 2-1 in the 7th and then we didn’t score in the top of the 8th….I told my wife that we’ll lose this game. Never ever, would I think that Tito would pass up on Foulke and give the ball to Paps. I knew that Timlin would make it through his inning (even though it was ugly). But what I also knew was that Foulke wouldn’t make it through his.

I so badly want Foulke to succeed, but I don’t want set him up for failure, Texas is not a friendly place for him. Thankfully that was our last trip to Arlington this season. Francona gave the perfect answer in the post game interview for what had happened. Right now Papelbon is is dialed in. And do you really think that Paps would want to have blown that save? (Of course nobody would want that) Josh Beckett is in the same peer group as Paps. They are both 24 . I can see a good old fashion in house competition between these two. That’s definetly a good thing. Paps, if he remains the closer for 06′, will eventually be a starter.

But as for now, let the good times roll.
