1 Up - 1 Down

Saturday, April 15th, 2006

Yesterday’s performance by Schilling was exciting. That it’s. It’s that simple. Yesterday’s game had a positive outcome, today’s game had a very poor outcome.

The bottom line is that the Sox offense is struggling. We’ve come to experience a lot of offense over the past few years and many of us weren’t expecting that kind of […]

What We Learned Today…

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Boomer was battered. Wily Mo connected, need I say more. A-Gonz performed magic and Coco gave up free agency — a year of it anyway.

The game was fairly disastrous. It was David Wells first start, so I guess one can’t put too much emphasis or speculation into the season based on tonight’s performance. The same […]

Arroyo 2 - Bonds 0

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Bronson Arroyo goes deep again! And he did it against Glendon Rusch again! I know that if I were a major league pitcher and I threw two homers to the same pitcher, I’d be a bit upset. If BA hit’s another this year maybe he should be checked for HGH.

Must We Take It Like This?

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

Watching the first inning of the Fenway opener was a bit nerve-racking. But after seeing guys like Pedro Martinez struggle in the first innings only to turn out gems by the end of the game made it a little more tolerable to sit through Josh Beckett’s first inning struggles. As already noted everywhere in the […]

Ortiz Gets Extension

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Well, I haven’t gotten all the details. But words out that Ortiz is signed up through 2010 with an option on 2011. Not sure what the money terms are, but glad to hear we have the greatest clutch hitter in history of the Sox signed for years to come.

Oh Oh for Coco?

Monday, April 10th, 2006

Word on the street is that Coco Crisp may have broken his finger and be out up to 4 weeks. There has been no official report yet, but Crisp did sit out Sunday’s game after an awkward slide into 3rd base in Saturday’s game. In the event that Coco goes on the DL, I would […]

What A Sweet Couple Games

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

From Schilling to Wake, with Timlin and Paps in between — how sweet it’s been. Although it is still very early in the season, it’s quite enjoyable watching the ptichers perform so well. Granted a lot of accolades can be dealt to the defense and a grinding offensive lineup that seems to do just enough […]

Oh What a Future

Thursday, April 6th, 2006

Talk about nervous! I’m so happy that baseball is back. Now there is no questions about what will be on TV nearly every night. But when it was 2-1 in the 7th and then we didn’t score in the top of the 8th….I told my wife that we’ll lose this game. Never ever, would I […]

That’s Why They Are Where They Are

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

We traded for Beckett. We moved Papelbon to the bullpen. We beat the Texas Rangers 2-1 in the final game of a three game series.

Beckett battled all game to finish after 7 solid innings. He surrendered only 1 run and struck out 5. As is often the case with power pitchers, they have many foul […]

Did Sox Trade Dangerous Pinch Hitter in Arroyo?

Wednesday, April 5th, 2006

Good for him, glad to hear…

Arroyo blasts first home run.
